Are you a business, corporation, or community leader that would really love to see your charitable dollars actually accomplish something rather than fall into a endless black pit of administrative overhead and manager salaries? Then we would really like to talk to you.

The MacTheatre Fund is not only non-profit, it is completely volunteer run. This means other than some very small (less than 1%) of expenses going to the Austin Community Foundation to pay for audits and credit card fees, ALL of your donation dollars actually go to the talented and dedicated theatre students you intended to support with your donation. Last year alone the MacTheatre Fund, parents, and other community leaders raised over $100,000 to assist MacTheatre students to perform at and attend the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the world's largest theatre and arts festival, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Without the community support of the MacTheatre Fund, this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity would have been completely out of reach for many of our most talented and gifted students. With your support, thirty students were able to go on the trip, which will no doubt be the highlight of their high school careers, and further intensify their love and respect for the craft of theatre.

How You Can Help

  • Become a season sponsor

Past MacTheatre sponsors have included the Austin Chronicle, NBC Television and Northern Entertainment (the producers of "Friday Night Lights"), Centex Beverages, The Austin Film Festival, Matthew McConaughey, Continental Airlines, the Austin Film Society, Ballet Austin, and more. Season sponsors get free preferred seating at all MacTheatre shows, ads in all performance programs, and, depending on your level of sponsorship, mentions in newspaper ads for MacTheatre shows and signage at performances. To find out more, email coordinator@mactheatrefund.org, or contact Gregg Perry at 512.457.8491 and leave a message.

  • Support the students with props, costumes and food

Are you the owner of a costume, fabric, used clothing, or vintage store? We always need props and costumes for upcoming productions. Own a restaurant? Our students work year round on productions and projects, and are usually still at school during the evenings and on weekends. You can help by providing a meal for our students. Support sponsors are always appreciated and receive mentions in our programs and at performances. You can email coordinator@mactheatrefund.org for more information.

  • Support our fundraisers

The MacTheatre Fund usually has two to three major fundraising events or sales each school year, including the fabulous Broadway Knights, a casino night and silent auction with special performances by MacTheatre students and fabulous prizes for the attendees. It's never too early to help us by agreeing to donate prizes and provide other support for these fundraisers. Such donations are always appreciated, and are always acknowledged on signage and at the event. Depending on the fair market value of the items donated, they may also be treated as season sponsorships.

  • Come see our shows and support our other services

MacTheatre officially performs six shows each school year, and usually hosts a summer musical for all of the Austin Independent School District during the summer. Additionally, MacTheatre students provide technical and stagecraft support for dozens of other school and community arts and performance troupes throughout Austin. Finally, the technical wizards at MacTheatre are often called upon by community non-profit groups to design and build props and backdrops for community fundraisers. You can help by coming to see our shows (which often rival many professional troupes in Austin) and hiring our students to help you with your next fundraiser. Tickets for our shows will be available online and at the door. You can always go to www.mactheatre.com for more information on current productions. You can get more information and availability info about MacTheatre's design services by contacting coordinator@mactheatrefund.org.
